Jay Leno: Endings and beginnings

I was watching the last episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as he passes the hosting duty to Conan O’ Brien. After 17 years of doing The Tonight Show, Jay Leno will leave at the top of his game, as his show still enjoys top ratings.

Life is a lot like The Tonight Show. There are hits and misses. There are jokes that are funny and jokes that just make fun of you. There are people you like to work with and people you can’t stand but have to talk to. You get a round of applause for things that you do or you get a ribbing for being lousy.

Life is also full of beginnings and endings. As I watch Jay Leno’s last episode, I think about Enzo, peacefully sleeping in his crib. He’s my little boy right now but in 17 years, who knows what will become of him? Will he still be the same good boy that I’ve fallen in love the moment I saw him? Or he’ll be just like any teenage kid, who wants to strike on his own and live his own life? Will Phil and I decide to have another child, a new Conan O’ Brien in our life?

I was trying on some dresses when my husband Philip arrived from work. I was admiring myself in front of the full-length mirror when Phil said absent-mindedly, “You’re getting pudgy, dear.” I stared at him coldly but he was oblivious to it as he was busy sifting through the mails. I heaved a sigh of dejection and put my clothes back in our closet.

I stepped out of our room and checked on Enzo’s room to see if he’s already up from his nap. Looking at my little angel, I feel he’s the only one in this world who thinks I will always be pretty. Every time he sees me, his eyes lit up and he makes me feel that I’m Miss Universe. Sigh…

My name is Victoria and I’m the Good Mum.

Like many of mothers out there, I want only the best for my child. Former US First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy once said, “If you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you well matters very much.”

I am a stay-at-home mother (SAHM) of the cutest tyke in the world named Lorenzo or Enzo. He is one-year-old and likes to doodle on his drawing pad and sometimes on the bathroom wall.

I am married to a wonderful husband, who works as an advertising director in one of the biggest networks in the country. We have been married for two years before we decided to have Enzo.

I used to work as public relations manager in one of the leading skincare companies in the country. From time to time, I also work as a TV commercial model, appearing in different TV ads and playing the role of—yes, you guessed it!—a mom.

This is my blog and I hope I can share my life to other Good Mothers out there.
